A visit to the Aufguss sauna at Vitae Wellness Resort Goes is an experience for all your senses. During an ‘opgiet’ ritual, our experienced sauna master creates a unique wellness experience where heat, scent and sensation come together. Fragrant ice cubes infused with essential oils melt on the sauna heater, after which the warm air is circulated throughout the sauna using special fanning techniques.
Due to the higher humidity and more intense heat, every ongieting feels different. With a temperature of around 85°C, the ongieting sauna is the perfect place for those who love a powerful yet relaxing sauna experience.
What is an ‘opgieting’?
An ‘opgieting’ is a traditional sauna ritual in which water and essential oils are poured onto the hot sauna stove. The sauna master then circulates the warm air throughout the sauna, intensifying the sensation of heat and allowing the delightful scents to fill the room.
Every ‘opgieting’ has its own character and offers a unique combination of heat, relaxation and aromatic experience. This means that no two sessions are ever the same.
